MINUET
A minuet is an old dance popular during the time of George Washington. It is not a lively dance, but a stately dance in small and dainty steps. It originates from the time of the harpsichord as seen in this video. The harpsichord id an old instrument commonly played by composers including Bach and Rameau. You are playing a Minuet by Rameau (X4). This example is by Bach.
DOWN BY THE STATION
The song, "Down by the Station" is a popular standard for children. The melody is close to the folk tune, "Alouette". This version is an echo song. An echo song is when a leader calls out a phrase for others to repeat. This method of imitation is often used to teach songs to a group.
IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING
You just have to watch this video of a full orchestra playing the same theme as you are playing from the Favorite Song section in your book, A5. See the different instruments taking turns with the melody such as the bassoons, violins, and oboe. Imagine the main character of the play, Peter, running faster and faster to escape the cave of the "Hall of the Mountain King".
